Witchy Woman

This tutorial was written by me on October 13, 2013 and was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

"Witchy-Part 1" is a fabulous tagger-size scrap kit by Gothic Inspirations.  Witchy-Part 2 was just released today and looks equally fantastic!  You'll find it at Gothic Inspirations store, HERE.  Thanks so much Jess!

Beautiful artwork by Mayumi Ogihara.  This tube is called "The Birth Of Stars" and is available at PSP Tube Stop.  You must have a license to use.

Template #163 from Horseplay's Pasture.  Thank you for all the wonderful new templates Bev!

Mask #147 from Designs by Vaybs.

Plug-in used: Eye Candy 4000; Gradient Glow.

Font used: Trick Tag, HERE.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP; shift + d to duplicate and close the original.

Delete the following layers: Credit, Raster 4 and 6.

Change the canvas size to 850 x 750.  Activate the background layer and flood fill the blank areas with white.

Activate Raster 1; select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open Paper 8 and resize 60%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as desired.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete the original layer.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 0, Opacity 72, Blur 15.

Repeat the steps above for these layers:

Raster 2: Paper 10
Raster 3: Paper 3

Activate Raster 5; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 2 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer; invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Open the tube, resize 75%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and move to the left side of the circle.  Tap delete, do not deselect.

Undo the tube resize; copy and paste as a new layer and move below the original tube.  Arrange as shown, tap delete and deselect.  Change the blend mode to Hard Light and reduce the opacity to 58%.  Delete the original layer.

Open Frame 1 and resize 65%.  Copy and paste as a new layer over the circle to form a frame.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 2, Opacity 72, Blur 10.

Add the rest of your elements, I used:

Bats: resize 70%
Book: resize 40%
Border: resize 60%, then 85%
Bush: resize 80%, mirror
Candles: resize 70%
Cat: resize 70%
Grass: resize 55%

Potions: resize 25%, then 90%
Tree: resize 70%
Wand: resize 40%; free rotate 5° right
Weeds: resize 40%
WordArt3wGlow: resize 50%

Apply drop shadow above to elements.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize merged layer 85%.  Unhide background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Open Paper 11, copy and paste into selection.  Deselect and apply DBV mask #147; merge mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name using Trick Tag font, size 72, stroke 0, colour #2b0d3d.  Place where desired.

Apply glow to your name, using Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow with these settings:

Under the Colour tab:

Select "Medium" from the list.  Change the colour to #dc784c.

Under the Basic tab:

Glow Width: 4.00
Soft Corners: 0

Autumn Beauty Queen

This tutorial was written by me on October 12th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

"Autumn Sunset" is a stunning kit created by Bev of Horseplay's Pasture Designs and is filled with the beautiful elements and colours of fall.  You will find it at Scraps From The Heart.  Thanks so much Bev!

I used the gorgeous art of Camilla Drankenborg, available at Up Your Art.  This beautiful tube is entitled "Beauty Queen 2".

Mask #19 from Moonbeams & Spiderwebs.

Font: I used Grand Prix ES, HERE.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 750 x 750, white background.

From the kit, open Element 30 and resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Using the magic wand, click inside the frame and expand the selection by 5.

Open Paper 9 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Move below the frame and arrange as desired.  Invert the selection and tap delete, do not deselect.

Open Element 55 and resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer above the paper layer.  Tap delete and deselect.

Using the magic wand, click inside the frame again but do not expand the selection.  Resize the tube 75%, copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as shown on top of the frame.  Invert the selection and use the eraser to remove the sections of the tube that overlap the frame at the bottom and on the left side.  Deselect and adjust the placement of the tube if necessary.  Apply a drop shadow of choice to the tube, I used Vertical: -7, Horizontal: 2, Opacity: 35, Blur: 15.

Apply drop shadow of choice to the leaves and frame, I used H&V: 2, O: 55, B: 8.

Add the other elements, I used:

El6: do not resize; erase the trunk and arrange on the right side, behind the frame, above the background layer.  Duplicate and arrange on the left side.  See my tag for reference.
El13: resize 65%
El19: resize 50%
El46: resize 50%
El47: resize 50%, then 70%.  Free rotate 12° right and arrange on top of element 46.
El64: resize 67%; arrange across the top of the frame.  Duplicate and arrange the copy on the bottom of the frame.
El66: resize 30%
El80: resize 50%; duplicate and mirror.

Apply drop shadow above to all elements.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide the background and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste Paper 3 into the selection; deselect.  Apply Moonbeams & Spiderwebs mask #19 and merge mask group.

Crop and resize your tag, add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png and you're finished.  Enjoy your new tag and thanks for trying my tutorial!

If you'd like to show me your tag, please email me HERE.  I love to see what people do with my tutorials!  :)
