Tag Offer

I created an animated version of "Black Heart" and decided to offer it as a Who Wants One.  To keep it manageable, I'm limiting the number to 15.  If you'd like one, just leave a comment to this post and let me know what name you'd like on the tag.  :)

Once there are 15 requests, the offer is closed.

Hope everyone had an awesome weekend!

Black Heart

This tutorial was written by me on July 14th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

"My Black Heart" is a new tagger-size kit by Gothic Inspirations and it's awesome!!  You can find it at the Gothic Inspirations Store.  Thanks so much Jess!

Art ©Gaetano DiFalco, available at CDO.

Mask #80 by Vaybs.

Eye Candy 4000; Gradient Glow

Font: I used French Kiss, a pay font.  A web search will result in multiple links.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 900 x 800, white background.

From the kit, open Frame 6 and resize 65%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Free rotate 90 degrees left.

Using the magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections > Modify > Expand > expand by 5.

Open Paper 10 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and move below frame.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Open the close-up tube, do not resize.  Copy and paste as a new layer, move below the frame and arrange within the selection.  Tap delete and deselect.  Change the blend mode to Burn and reduce the opacity to 80%.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 2, Opacity 73, Blur 12.

Copy and paste the main tube as a new layer and arrange to the right of the frame, as shown.  Drop shadow.

Open Fencing and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer above the background layer.  Arrange on the left side of the tag (see my tag for placement).  Remove any excess visible below the fence with your eraser.

Using the rectangle selection tool, draw a selection around the end of the fence, like this:

Selections > Modify > Inside/Outside Feather > Select Both, Feather Amount 10.  Click OK.

Your selection will now look like this:

Tap delete 3 times.  You will now have this:

Deselect.  Duplicate and mirror, arrange copy on the right hand side.  Apply drop shadow to both, I used H&V 2, Opacity 69, Blur 10.

Add your elements and apply drop shadow above unless otherwise specified.  I used:

Bats: resize 40%
Cloud: resize 80%; apply light drop shadow-I used H&V 0, Opacity 25, Blur 14
Ghost: do not resize, reduce the opacity to 50%
Grass (1st one on the list): resize 35%; duplicate and mirror
Lamp: resize 35%
Magical Lights: resize 40%; duplicate and mirror
Moon: resize 30%; drop shadow H&V 2, Opacity 35, Blur 10
Stone: resize 27%
Tree 1: resize 60%; duplicate and mirror
Tree 2: resize 60%

Open Word Art 1 and resize 30%, then 90%.  Apply Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow with these settings:

Under the Colour tab:
Choose "Fat" from the list, leave the other settings as is.

Under the Basic tab:
Glow Width: 3.00
Soft Corners: 0
Overall Opacity: 100
Draw Only Outside Selection: checked

Click OK.  Apply drop shadow.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize the merged layer 85%.

Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste Paper 4 into the selection; deselect.  Apply DBV Mask #80 and merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.

Crop and resize your tag.  Type a quote of choice below the tag if desired.  I chose a quote from Hamlet: "God hath given you one face, and you make yourself another".  Apply the same gradient glow effect as above and apply same drop shadow as the elements.

Add your name and arrange where desired.  Apply gradient glow (using the same settings) and drop shadow.

Add all applicable copyright and license information and you're finished.  Enjoy your new tag!
